We bought furniture here about 3 years ago and also bought Gardiner-Wolf's protection plan from the worst protection plan third party provider they could have possibly partnered with, Guardsman. Unfortunately I did not search on Guardsman Furniture Professionals before -- their Better Business Bureau rating is beyond repair (ironic, isn't it?) and their customer service and refusal to cover anything they have promised to cover in ink is even worse. If I was was Gardiner Wolf I would extricate my business from these scammers immediately! Guardsman called my punctured leather chair a "crack" and therefore wouldn't cover it, even though it was punctured with my mother's wedding ring.
A week passed with no word from Gardiner Wolfe or the customer service department.
Is it your business model to take a customer’s money and then neglect them until they have to call constantly and in the end make several, physical trips, taking time and money from their day, to fight for and retrieve an item that they have purchased?
On Saturday, November 18, 2017, I drove to the Westminster, MD store and asked for my core to the couch that we had paid for. I was met with confusion and disdain from every one of the employees until a nice woman named Lorvern/Laverne (spelling) arrived.
Lorvern/Laverne took the situation into stride with great professionalism. She had me show her the couch that we had purchased and agreed to allow me to have the core of the cushion if she could not track down the one we had ordered 10 weeks prior.
Bogus, full of poop people. If you can't protect your purchase, what's the point in buying from Gardiner's Wolf in the first place? Take your business elsewhere! I will NEVER buy from them again...
At the ten week mark, I had had enough of the run around, Thanksgiving was fast approaching and we still had no core for a couch for which we had paid. Gardiner Wolfe had taken our $70+, promised a new core to be sent in 4-6 weeks and had no interest in rectifying the problem.
Great selection. Always seem to have what I need. Staff is very helpful.
Does it seem logical that customers who have purchased an item from you are not provided the item they have paid for?
Love the home town sales associates!
I truly believe that if you had more people with the intellect, pose and professionalism of Lorvern/Laverne working for your company, you would be a company worth buying from. We wish her the very best and thank her for her hard work and problem solving skills.
If not for Lorvern/Laverne and her kindness and professionalism, we would gladly have written Gardiner Wolfe Furniture off and never returned, all the while warning our friends and family of these ridiculous hoops that were jumped through by us.
Earlier this year we had the pleasure of purchasing our first couch from your store. We were pleased with our new couch and everything seemed to be going well.
When my husband arrived, Lorvern/Laverne was gone for the day and the woman behind the counter seemed confused as to why my husband was retrieving the core. He explained that we had paid for it 10 weeks prior and that Lorvern/Laverne had packaged it for us. Eventually the core was released to him and we were able to get our couch put together before our Thanksgiving company arrived.
We contacted customer service and were informed that we should throw out the core and place an order for a new one. We did so. We placed the order in early September 2017 and paid the $70+ fee. We were told that the core would arrive to the Westminster, MD store within 4-6 weeks.
Gardiner Wolf,
I feel I must advise; this is not a wise business model to follow.
Shortly after having our couch we noticed a strong odor coming from one of the couch cushions. We removed the cover, washed it and found that the core to the cushion had a repugnant smell.
When 6 weeks arrived and we had not received a call with regards to our cushion my husband, contacted the customer service group by phone. He was given the run around and told that they did not know where the core was and that someone would get back to him.
On Monday, November 20th I received a call from Lorvern/Laverne stating I could come after 4 to pick up the core for the couch. My husband and I rushed over to the Westminster, MD store to retrieve our core.
My husband called again and was told that the core was sent to a furniture store in Pennsylvania and that someone would call him back and let him know when it would arrive to the Westminster store.
My salesman was excellent. He took time to help me find the right headboard at an excellent price and suggested the bedframe from the same company, also at a goof price, to make installation easier. he also helped me to a 19" bed table, not a standard width in a very nice style and stain and American made. I also bought a dresser with full drawer extension. Who knew? I never felt rushed or pressured and the pricing was better than I had expected.
We never heard back.
I must take a moment to ask you, as a company, does any of this seem reasonable to you?
Was a great experience! Friendly, professional and an overall great experience !
