However, after waiting 48 hours, I washed my hair using products I bought at Hair After that would supposedly protect the color. I was a disaster, all the vibrant colors washed out! I looked like I had washed my hair hundreds of times for months, not just once two days after having the color done. The hot pink turned pastel and looked grungy and grimy. I called the saloon as soon as they were open again and they agreed to try and fix it.
Great atmosphere, awesome building and fantastic people! Mandi is awesome and the shampoo girl is so sweet! Parking is a little tough but it doesn't stop me from going there
Worth every penny.
I went to Hair After because according to social media they were able to do a color/dye style called “oil slick” and most places I had spoken with couldn’t do that technique. Their pictures look fantastic online. At my appointment, I showed the stylist pictures of what I was looking for and what I wanted. She agreed that she could do that. One of the first things she did was start coloring my bangs a very dark colors; one I called “black” and she called “dark auburn.” Like most people who go to an expert claiming to know a technique, I figured she was in the right. Once all was said and done, the finished product was beautiful; but not oil slick. The overall color was still black, which completely washed out the color in my face. The other colors were vibrant and unique highlighter colors: pinks, greens, and blues. While not what I wanted, I liked it and believed I could be happy with it.
LOVE Erin. She always helps me see my vision through. Tyler is a great help when it comes to color.
Extreme talent behind those doors! From regular hair cut to the most unique & fashionable up to date color this place offers it all PLUS a variety of other beauty services! Kasey has been my go-to for color for years & is a artistic genius with an AMAZING personality!!
They are great there. Friendly Staff . Kim does a fabulous job and is very patient with my autistic son.
The fix was even worse. I didn’t want them to attempt their funky colors again. I believe they use Manic Panic, the stuff people buy at Hot Topic for barely permanent color; certainly not a product warranting the price and permanency I expected. Since my hair was black (“dark auburn”) they had to dye my whole head a one-dimensional black and put yellow blonde highlights to break up the color. I looked like a peed-on skunk.
I suffered with that horrible black color for two months to let my hair calm from the dyes, then I chopped everything off. What a waste. I have not had short hair in about twenty years; but, because of the travesty of a dye job I had over a foot of hair lopped off in to a pixie cut.
BLUF: Spent hundred on a trendy technique that washed out in the first wash. Their “fix” made me look washed out and was not good. Ended up cutting off all my hair into a pixie cut by a real stylist somewhere else.
